AA and GDM Mailbox

Hi, can anybody help. This may seem like a simple issue, but i'm having problems getting the AA to forward to a GDM. I need to set up and Auto Attendant menu (using the default aa_transfer script) to allow the caller to forward to a number of extensions. This is fine and works well, but I also need them to have the option to leave a voicemail in a GDM.

I've configured the GDM Group and assigned the rights to the groups. The user with the rights can access their voicemail and hit "9" to access the GDM mailbox which is fine. However, the AA script does not work when I assign the GDM extension to it. If I attempt to configure the option in the CCA it takes the GDM extension number but then removes it (after a refresh).

Any ideas, or better ways to do this? I'd considered using a dummy user/mailbox, but how would I allow a receptionist to access that mailbox from her own phone?

Thanks,

I am looking into this same scenario... I have a group of users that will be sharing a broadcast style huntgroup and I need that number to eventually end to a GDM. I am using Unity Express 3.1.1 and I set up a GDM group with a number of 2370 to match the broadcast hunt group. I am getting the flashing envelope but no red light? Is there a way around this?

No Red Light for GDMs

There is no Red Light for GDMs just a flashing envelope icon. RedLights can only go on for personal mailboxes. Also, to access GDMs Group members must get into it thought their personal mailbox using option 9. They can also use VoiceView Express to browse the messages in a GDM.

So Hoover87, do you mean

So Hoover87, do you mean that 3 phones for example could have their primary dn line appearance and then the gdm dn line appearance on their phones and both dn's would have mwi functionality?

Yes, with a caveat...the GDM

Yes, with a caveat...the GDM MWI will only be an envelope at the line appearance, not the red light on the handset....the primary extension will still light up the handset.

What I usually do is create

What I usually do is create an ephone-dn and set it to cfwd-all and use it as the GDM extension. When a call needs to go to the GDM, send it to the ephone-dn with the cfwd-all set. You can also add the ephone-dn to a line appearance on a phone to get MWI visablility into the GDM.
