Can someone confirm if this is supported by the Cisco UC500 or not?

Dial peer with asterisk accross site-site vpn

I have intergrated calls going between the uc520 and asterisk locally.  I have moved the asterisk a remote site and now I cant send sip traffic through the vpn.  I think it has to do with

Skype announces interoperability with Cisco Unified Communications 500 Series for Small Business using  Skype for SIP
The Cisco Unified Communications 500 Series for Small Business has now been certified as interoperable with Skype for SIP.
I think this will be interesting.  I'd like to hear Cisco's comments on this as well.

I hope someone can help me. We are thinking of deploying a UC500 for a very small VoIP deployment, normally we'd use a 2821 but cannot justify the cost for such a small project.
