CCA 1.8 and Cisco callManager Express and Unity Express

We are new to the UC500. I like to know the functionality of the below items for the UC500 that we have. I have used the CCA 1.8 to configure the basics of the uc500 for the local Lan. I also noticed that I there is voice option within the CCA that can bee used to configure voice option on the voice Vlan (10.1.10.1). But also, I found that you can get to the Call Manager by the http address on the voice Vlan and also configure voice that way.

Here are the items:

Cisco configuration assistant 1.8
Cisco Callmanager express ( version 12.4 CME 4.2.(0) )
cisco unity express voice mail/ auto attendant ( I am running version 2.3)

P.S ( the initialization wizard did not run the first time I loged into unity express, can i force it to run). Do i need software upgrade/ IOS?
