Change Background image on cisco 7970 or 7971 phone

What is the best free ware software to use to size yoru image to png to fit onto the ip phone? I am really hit and miss with the sizing use vista, the fiels are loaded on the flash, the tn shows up in the image background on the phone, but not all of them will apply.

am having issues changing the backgrounds on cisco 7945,

the image shows up on the soft phone but not the 7945

created the two files, and edited the list.xml but doesn't show up any ideas or examples

the resolution used for these 2 ip phones aren't the same.

the more easy , is to debug the tftp traffic on UC500

for this, you do

uc500#terminal monitor
uc500#debug tftp event

=> when you will see the logs of your ip phone, logically you will find the name of directory used by your 7975

example: 320x200x4

so on the flash, you will create a new directory
=> mkdir 320x200x4

and put the xml & png & Thumbnail png for your 7975
