Daylight Savings Time issue - 7975 / 7970 phones are off 1 hour

Is anyone facing this problem with the 7975 / 7970 phones? CCA time is correct and other phones such as 7940s are displaying the correct time. However, 3rd generation phones are off by one hour.

What is the correct procedure to get this resolved? My UC500 is currently running the latest software 4.2.6.

7975 is running SCCP75.8-3-2S and 7970 on SCCP70.8-2.2SR2S.

Ok so I finally was able to

Ok so I finally was able to resolve this issue. I found out that there is a command in telephony-services (time-zone) which was pointing to a wrong time zone. I'm assuming since I started it out with CCA 1.0, this was never configured to the right time zone.

It was this easy! :)

funny

don't you love the simple fixes?

What is the latest firmware

What is the latest firmware for the 7975 for CME? and where can I find it?

As stated earlier, my phone is running a file called SCCP75.8-3-2S and I'm wondering if there's anything newer than this that will resolve this issue.

I went to the Field Notice in the link above. I see that it was from first Q of 2007. Since I'm working with the UC500 which was released late 2007, wouldn't this FN not apply? meaning, wouldn't Cisco put phone loads that should already have the fix?

are phone loads and

are phone loads and firmwares different? any documentation on using the latest firmware? I figured running the latest software version of 4.2.6 would have the latest phone loads.

Here is the link for the DST Fix for your Phones

Below is the appropriate link for Uc500 and CallManager Express that has instructions on how to get the updated firmware for your phones.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/sw/voicesw/ps4625/products_f...

Since this is a bug affecting your phones you will have to load the appropriate firmware for your model phone in flash. Phone loads and firmware mean the same thing.
You also have to modify your tftp server statements in IOS to allow the built in TFTP process to serve up the files. A sample looks like this . . .
tftp server flash:SCCP70.8-2-2SR2S.SBIN
Next change the phone load mapping under telephony-service to reflect the new firmware. Sample below . . .
load 7971 SCCP70.8-2-2SR2S

Last Thing . . Reissue the create cnf-files command to update your phone configs and then reload the phones.

Ongoing DST Issues

I am still having issues with DST on the phones. The UC and CUE have the correct time and I have updated to 4.2.9. The telephony-service time-zone is correct and I have issued create cnf-files and reloaded phones but the phones are still one hour out.

All of the phones are 7961's and I am running SCCP41.8-2-2SR2S on them which is a later release to the DST fix released for CCME 4.1 (I updated to 4.2.9 however show telephony-service says Version 4.2(0))

Anyone having the same issues or know how to fix it ?

Just worked through an issue

Just worked through an issue similar to this where the handset would not get the correct time from the system. "Show Clock" gave the correct time and "show ntp asso" showed it connected to the NTP server.

I needed to add the model of handset to the Ephone configuration,

ephone 1
mac-address 001E.F7C4.DEBA
type 7970
button 1:1

Without it, it would not update the time.
