CE500 - STP

Hi
How do you disable STP on a CE500 please?  I need to connect a GBic switch (non Cisco and no voice vlan reqd) to a Gbic port on a CE500.  It keeps closing port as STP.  I want to change for that one port only and I know there are no loops.
I have changed the port from Switch to Other - is this the method?
Anyone advise or confirm please?

Set the smartport role to Switch.
