Configuration assistant - User IDs required?
In the Voice section, under User Extensions, after a new extension is automatically added, I would like to go there to update the name on the extension. However when I try to do that - the Config Asst - say's that UserID is required also. My vendor is telling me that if I put a UserID there, then that userID will be required each time the user does anything to their phone (like settings), so I really should not use the Config assistant to update the names, and I should just use the command line interface.
I'm not sure I want to do that -but I would really like to be able to use the Config Asst to update my system config. Is there a way to turn this feature off (requiring a UserID - just to update the Names on an extension)? If not - is it "No big deal" to require a UserID? Any other suggestions?
Thanks!

It hard to tell what affect your change will have without knowing how the installer built the system initially. If it was built using CCA it might be okay. If they vendor used CLI and did their own thing, then it could be a disaster.
I would recommend using the CUI GUI instead of the CCA. A default system will give you access to this GUI at http://10.1.10.1
