I have downloaded the new files from cisco.com. However when i select the zip file in CCA it warns me that i should have at least 84 mb of free space on my flash memory. Out of the box my uc520 came with a 128mb card, and without adding anything it now has only 42 mb of free space. Does the upgrade replace the old version automatically? Or do i need a new/bigger flash card first? |

I noticed CCA had no problems upgrading things on a 32user box, the 16 & 8 user chassis seem to suffer from the space limitation.
You need to delete files to
You need to delete files to get the size down. I ran into this once, it was surprising but I had to delete files. I started with all the large ones first.

CCA should do this
CCA should do this automatically. It prompts you with the warning message, but it will take care of the space issue itself. I've done several upgrades and never had an issue. As long as your flash isnt really really full with non-default files, IOS backups, etc, you will be fine.
clear and easy
not that i do not trust your answer, but is there anybody who can confirm this?
I am about to do this on a running configuration, and i will be really lost if it fails.
Backup first!
Make sure you do your backup first of course, then go ahead.
I just did an upgrade from 4.2.7 to 4.2.8 successfully. If you watch the status window, you will see that the CCA deletes the old IOS first, then uploads the new one.
I didn't do the CUE upgrade though, since I already had the latest.
