Ip Communicator over Cisco VPN

I am having problems with IP Communicator over Cisco VPN. In the office the IP Communicator works fine where I can make and receive calls. But once connected over the VPN, I can hear and interact with the Unity Express but it is not hearing my audio from the microphone.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Routing inside Windows

from the machine that you are running CIPC on, can you interface with both the vlan 1 UC500 address and the voice vlan ip address..... maybe there's some routing that needs to be in place on the computer..

if I use the default IP addresses...... 192.168.10.x and 10.1.x.x should both route through the VPN tunnel.

on the PC try adding a route through the command prompt using (example):

If the IP address acquired for the PC side of the VPN tunnel is 192.168.10.100

route -p ADD 10.1.1.0 MASK 255.255.255.0 192.168.10.100

route -p ADD (network) MASK (subnet mask) (gateway IP)

This will add a route inside the windows operating system and the -p will make it persistent, so next time you boot it will be there..... by default routes added with "route ADD" will be lost after a reboot.

Thx. I will give it a try.

Thx. I will give it a try. Generally I can ping the 192.168.10.x and 10.1.1.x fine. I can connect to the UC520 via telnet on the vpn and also I can connect to CME via web browser.

if you can telnet and access

if you can telnet and access the CUE GUI then routing prob isnt an issue...

What network settings have you configured in the CIPC preferences?

I just set the TFTP server to

I just set the TFTP server to 10.1.1.1. It registers the cipc, gets a dn. When on the vpn i select use the cisco vpn adapter. Other than that I can call AA, extensions and hear them perfectly just they cant hear me. Works well in the office though, could it be some access-list work needs to be done?

Got it to work. Just needed

Got it to work. Just needed to add my vpn network to acl1. thx for all help.

Yes, I am using Cisco VPN

Yes, I am using Cisco VPN Client 5.0.02. I actually have a 24port UC520 in my office both the 24port and 8port of them have the same problems.

I have enabled split tunneling. I have several vlans 192.168.10.0, 192.168.20.0, 192.168.30.0 etc and have enabled all of them. Can ping them just fine.

Soft phone registers just fine and as mentioned can interact with Auto attendant just cant send voice.

I should also mention that it works fine in the office.

Thx

Are you using Cisco VPN

Ip Communicator over Cisco VPN

I changed the Interface to the VPN Interface and the MAC address to the ephone but still no luck

On the Preference -

On the Preference - Network
change the interface to your VPN interface (make sure you connect
to VPN first or else you can't see the interface)

Because you change the interface, you will have different mac-address, tie this mac with your ephone-dn then you are good to go.
