Locking down 7940 SIP phones with CME 4.1

I’d like to do the following:

Disable the speaker
Disable the PC port
Lock out the menu settings

I’m running CME 4.1 on a Cisco 2811 router, and running SIP P0S3-08-7-00 on the Cisco 7940 phones. I was able to get this working on the Cisco 7941 phones, but the config files are .xml where the 7940’s are .cnf files.

Here’s what I have on the 7941 xml files:

vendorConfig
disableSpeakertrue/disableSpeaker
pcPort1/pcPort
settingsAccess0/settingsAccess
/vendorConfig

I’m trying to do the same thing on the 7940’s but the options aren’t in the .cnf files and when we try inserting them using the .cnf syntax, they fail.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Just curious

Why did you chose SIP images on your 7940's running against CME.
Just wondering what advantage you found of SCCP

For SCCP phones I know you can do it

For a SCCP 7940 there is a link here

Be aware that SIP phone features are limited on the 7940 phones due to the fact that they have 1/8th the memory/flash of the newer 7941s. There is a possibility that you may not be able to do it on the 7940s.

Just a guess,

Ted
