Need Help 1700 series call manager with ATA phones

Hi Folks,

I am new to use the cisco call manager with Cisco IOS Software, I using the version - C1700 Software (C1700-SPSERVICESK9-M), Version 12.4(9)T1, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2).

I never setup a call manager ever before. I need some help from all of the great Technical people in here so kindly help me out

I have configured some ATA sccp phones with the cisco call manger.
Here are some problems I am facing

1. Could not here audio alone I.e. voice while making calls in between 2 ATA sccp phones with the call manager...

If I give show ephone it displays that the phones are REGISTERED, and when i call I can here the ring in between 2 extensions, But no voice is heard.

setup for this looks like: --> 2 ATAs are under a ADSL broad band network in one country. And 3 more ATA phones and the call manager 1700 series itself are in another country under a accessible public network... so in this setup when I make calls from one country to another country only voice from one side is heard. I want to know why and how to fix it...

2. I need to know how to set the configuration in Cisco call manager to support SIP phones... Because as we all know SIP based VoIP phones are heavily used in U.S, so I need to allow sccp ATA phones to call and access to sip phones as well....

Hi, for the calls between

Hi,

for the calls between remote phones, you do not have much chances of success, because the modem/router commonly used for ADSL, do not support the SCCP protocol and do not "open" the right UDP ports for voice to pass.
The soultion would be to use cisco routers and build an proper VPN that allows each site to communicate with all the others, via tunnels. Unfortunately this is expensive and complicated.

For the SIP calls, yes these works, there is a section on this site about "third-party phones", check it. The SIP phone have much less issues than the SCCP one to work with cheap boradband modem/router, still you should expect problems.
