New Zealand disconnect issues for Analogue lines.
In this case the UC500 was configured for loopstart signaling (the default) and failed to recognise the New Zealand disconnect tone, which is sent by the Telco after the external user has hung-up. This resulted in users receiving voicemail messages with long periods of "beep beep beep" at the end; this would also impact AA availability as the port would stay in use etc.
The solution was to configure a custom disconnect and apply it to each of the FXO ports:
voice class custom-cptone customNZ
dualtone disconnect
frequency 400
cadence 250 250
voice-port 0/1/0
supervisory custom-cptone customNZ
voice-port 0/1/1
supervisory custom-cptone customNZ
voice-port 0/1/2
supervisory custom-cptone customNZ
voice-port 0/1/3
supervisory custom-cptone customNZ

New Zealand Disconnect tone:
400 or 900 Hz interrupted,
250 ms on, 250 ms off, repeated
Hope this helps someone.

It doesn't work for me
Hi,
Running a UC520 32U, 8FXO with 5 ports populated with POTS lines from Telecom NZ PSTN. I found CCA 2.0 made this configuration for me, no manual intervention required unlike CCA 1.5 that I started with.
However I've still getting the same issue that voicemail doesn't recognise when a caller has hung up
Any help appreciated

Thanks,

Mya be thet're using 900 Hz
May be they're using 900 Hz on your line ?
You also need
You need the custom CPtone thats shown above, note if you use CCA 2.0 or greater it will configure the custom CPTone for you. However you also need "Clear Forward and Answer Reversal" enabled on all the POTS lines attached to your FXO ports. Call your Telco i.e. Telecom, Telstra etc and they will enable it on your lines for free (call 126 for Telecom).
