if you have less than 100 numbers/names to memorize, you can use the local directory.
Else you can use the "number to name " TCL/IVR scripts that I wrote and keep at:

http://pbevila.fastmail.fm/public/

Note, these might need a final pass of bug fixing, unfortunately at the present time I cannot commit to such free activity.

Using uc520 with 7940 phones,

We have a external directory we can view on the phone but what we need is caller ID to translate the phone number to the Name if its in the external directory and display on phone.

We use analog trunks if this makes a diffrence.
