UC500 VLAN configuration and routing issues

I just joined a Company and they have deployed UC500 with the accompanying CE520. a quick check reveals that they have 3 VLANS default (VLAN1), VLAN70 (data) and VLAN70(voice). VLAN100 is on the 10.1.1.0 subnet for the phones and VLAN70 is on the 192.168.10.0 subnet for the DATA. DHCP is activated with both scope.

Some how the VLAN70 has a limited scope (DHCP wise) 192.168.10.12- 192.168.10.14 Some how any Workstation i connect gets an IP within and without. I am to ping some of the machines.. but am not able to ping other. Some of the machines can ping themselves others are not able to ping themselves.

I suspect the problem is with the unit, but i have not be given the directive to revert to factory settings..
1- How can i fix this problem.. i suspect it is the cause am not able to join some machines to the Domain I have created
2- How can I increase the DHCP Pool on VLAN70 so they can all be on one subnet?

3. any new ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Receive Internal DNS Automatically

For demo and lab, I am looking for a way to set up the UC520 to automatically use the DNS of the internal network it is plugging into. Is this possible?

When I plug the UC520 into the network, it pulls an IP address ok, but still uses the default DNS, 205.152.0.20.

First make sure by doing an

First make sure by doing an IPCONFIG /ALL when you get an address outside of that range that there isnt another DHCP server on the network. Your config should have something like this:

ip dhcp pool data
network 192.168.10.0 255.255.255.0
default-router 192.168.10.1
dns-server 204.60.0.2 4.2.2.2

Can you post any of these back here so I can take a look? I will be better able to tell you what to change it to. The rest of the configuration (stripped of any unique information of course) would be helpful to determine why you cant ping some stuff. Probably a subnet mask issue.

Hey this guy Jaudet, is smart... It is definetly a subnet mask issue. That is my guess. I also think there is a 2nd DHCP server on your network. Turn off the UC500 and try to get DHCP from some machine while it is off.

Thansk mate

Here are the result of
IPv4 address 192.168.10.20 (preferred)
subnet mask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.10.1
DHCP server 192.168.10.1
DNS servers 63.203.35.55

Now i was able to log in the UC500 using hyper terminal and i can see all the Leased IP binding to MAC
off course it does not show the statics IP bindings.

DNS

You cannot join desktop to the domain if they cannot resolve the DNS for your domain. Consider setting up the DNS to point to the your internal DNS Server so it can see a domain controller.

Ok that means your getting

Ok that means your getting your DHCP address from the UC500. Now go in and find the section I listed above and copy that here so we can see it and help you possibly fix any issues with it.
